Lay your head on the ground
Listen for the sound of the train
Can't you hear the rail?
Singin my sweet song

Lay your head on the track
Close these eyes and never look back
I hear angels
Singin my sweet song

It's easier to go
Harder to stay awake
To hear you pray

I hear a tenor on the breeze
I hear a trump of angels callin' me home
I hear the willowing trees
And see a halo in the steam from my lungs

Lay flowers on this grave
An old man was buried here today
The rose of life may wither on the vine
But we all get given our time.

Will you catch me when I fall
These pieces of my soul are small
I climb into the dust
Seeds for heaven
And a spirit I trust.

I hear a tenor on the breeze
I hear a trump of angels callin' me home
I hear the willowing trees
And see a halo in the steam from my lungs
